Blood Drive Saves Lives

Our agency hosts the Oklahoma Blood Institute bloodmobile several times throughout the year and we began 2020 with a hugely successful drive impacting more than 50 Oklahomans statewide. Coordinated by Green Country case manager, Geraldine Lee, these drives are open to all GC employees and the general public as well.  The most recent drive was held in the GC parking lot, Thursday, January 9th.

OBI Bloodmobile takes donors at GCBHS.

Dr. Michael Stevenson, with the Oklahoma Blood Institute thanked GC employees with the following message: “Thank you for your recent blood drive in which you exceeded your goal with 18 successful donors. Because of your hard work and the dedication of donors at the Green Country Behavioral Health Services, Inc, 54 lives were impacted by your blood drive on January 9, 2020!

“On behalf of the Oklahoma Blood Institute & the patients, caregivers, and hospitals we serve across our state, I thank you for creating a shining example of the positives that happen when good people come together to do great things.  While there are many, caring ways to support your friends & neighbors, few have as much impact as the selfless act of giving blood, which offers hope, healing & comfort to critically ill people.

Please share our appreciation and this tale of gratitude with all of your amazing donors who help make stories like this possible.”

Our next blood drive will be in June and everyone is encouraged to participate or give even sooner by signing up on the OBI website, obi.org
